Computer Networking Solution: What is network?

Network is not something new, but I still want to talk about basic things.
I will explain what is network and why we need it. Network is nothing more than two or more computers connected together. Either by cable or wireless. As long as the two computer connected, the two computer we say is network together.

How the two computer connected? what network hardware we need to use? what setup we need to do?, I will explain next time. As I said basic thing first.

By the way why we need network? Why people start to say " we better to have computer networking system". It start when people want to share information. Without network, what we have to do is save/copy our file to floopy/CD/DVD/thumb drive and give to our officemate. He/She then will copy the file to his/her PC and open it. After he/she finish modified he/she will pass back the device to you. So this is the scenario.

If the computer is networked together, we don't have to do all those thing I mention above. So that the important to have computer network. All the computers that network together in office or house we called it Local Area Network or LAN.

The are a few type of network like star, mesh, bus etc, but I not going to discuss here because we are not taking exam like CCNA or Network+ or MCSE. Here I want to write about home networking and small business networking solution. Also don't confuse LAN with Internet
. The Internet is a huge amalgamation of computer network strewn about the entire planet.

Frankly, computer networks are a bit of a pain to set up,. So why bother? Because the benefits of having a network make the pain of setting one up bearable. Networks is about sharing. Specifically, networks are about sharing three things
1. Files.
2. Resources
3. Programs.
